About CountCents

Free finance tools, built honestly

We built the calculator site we always wanted — no sign-ups, no email capture, no ads tracking your inputs. Just the math, clearly explained.

What this site is

CountCents started with a simple frustration: most finance calculators online either hide the good stuff behind a sign-up wall or bury a decent tool under ten paragraphs of fluff. We build single-purpose calculators that answer one money question well — debt payoff, Social Security timing, take-home pay, rent vs buy — and we show our math.

How the calculators work

Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser. Your numbers are never sent to our servers, because there is nothing to send them to — the calculation happens on your device and stays there. Each calculator page explains its formula and assumptions (IRS tables, FLSA rules, standard amortization math) so you can verify the result yourself.

What this site is not

We’re not financial advisors, and nothing here is financial advice. These are educational estimates based on the numbers you enter. For decisions with real money on the line — retirement timing, tax strategy, a house purchase — talk to a qualified professional who knows your full picture.

Our principles

Built different, on purpose

Private by design
Every calculation happens in your browser. Your salary, debts, and balances are never sent to our servers — or anyone else's. No analytics on your inputs, ever.
Show-the-math approach
Each tool explains its formula and assumptions — IRS tables, FLSA rules, amortization math — so you can trust and verify the result yourself, not just accept a number.
No walls, ever
No sign-up walls, no PDF downloads, no "enter your email for results". Type your numbers, get your answer. Every calculator works the moment the page loads.
